How does the Art Gang Work?
Monthly Sunday Evening Guided Art Projects
This isn’t your typical 2020 Zoom class. Each session is led by a talented college art major who guides the girls through an exciting main art project that is completed within the hour class.
After five years of running the Art Gang, we’ve learned what our young artists love most: a good challenge! That’s why, in addition to the main project, we host creative drawing challenges—either as a warm-up or a fun wrap-up to keep their artistic juices flowing.
Daily Art Challenges on the App
I love for the girls to practice being creative every day, which is why I give them a daily art challenge. These challenges are quick—just 30 seconds to 3 minutes—and help remind them that their art doesn’t have to be perfect. It’s all about letting go of the expectation that everything needs to be just right and simply having fun with the process.
The daily art challenges are posted each morning on the private Art Gang app. The app we use is the BAND app, and it's monitored by two adults.
